The New England Patriots defense will only give up 7 points.

There is no doubt about it, the Patriots defense was awful in Week 2. A Jaguars offense filled with mostly no-names torched the Patriots defense.

We all know how the Patriots tend to recover from these awful games. I’m expecting a great game from the Patriots, especially from the defense.

At the end of the day, a lot of the Patriots issues are simple fixes. They just have to make tackles and not make stupid decisions in coverage.

Eric Rowe had an awful game. I’m expecting Jason McCourty to get a lot more snaps and look to make an impact. Adrian Clayborn also struggled as well. Unlike Rowe, I think Clayborn will have a bounce-back effort.

It also helps that the Detroit Lions are one of the worst teams in football right now. That should give the defense a major break.

So I’m expecting a big game for the defense and the team overall. They can’t fall into a hole early on in the season. It definitely isn’t a must-win game, but if the Patriots somehow lost to the Lions it would cause a frenzy in New England.
