2. Jaroslav Halak keeps you in games

I think something that may not show up on stat sheets that makes Jaroslav Halak a great goaltender is that he keeps you in games. When the Boston Bruins need Halak to make a big save he doesn’t disappoint.

More from Boston Bruins

Halak has looked great stopping breakaways and has made some amazing saves. We saw this in Thursday nights game.

The Bruins struggled in the first period, and couldn’t get anything going in the offensive zone. That led to some amazing opportunities for the Philadelphia Flyers.

Halak was up to the challenge and made some truly amazing saves. Without Halak’s great performance the Bruins would have probably left the arena with a loss.

Sometimes when Tuukka Rask is between the pipes and you lose confidence in the team’s ability to win. Rask makes Boston Bruins fans nervous and can allow some terrible goals.

With Jaroslav Halak in net, you believe that the team can win and that’s all you can ask of the goaltender.
