1. Trey Flowers

When thinking of the New England Patriots defensive line, Trey Flowers immediately sticks out. The defensive end is the driving force of the Patriots pass rush.

More from Patriots Rumors

Flowers has been a great defensive end from the start of his career. He has always found a way into the opponent’s backfield. As a starter, he has racked up at least 6.5 sacks a season.

We saw just how important Flowers was this season. He and Stephon Gilmore were the backbones of the defense for the entire season. The Patriots can’t afford to lose Flowers.

New England has a reputation for not paying players. Usually, when they hit free agency it means their time in New England is over.

Flowers has proven that he deserves to be paid. If New England decides to be cheap it will cost them big time. They will lose a major piece of their defense and a player who can create a pass rush all by himself.

The New England Patriots No. 1 priority should be paying Trey Flowers.
