New England Patriots Rumors: Tom Brady to Antonio Brown dream shattered
Any chance of Antonio Brown in a New England Patriots uniform has been put to rest at least for this season.
If you think the New England Patriots are settled with winning their sixth Super Bowl championship, you better think twice.
As long as there is a Bill Belichick and Tom Brady leading the ship, this team will always strive to win Super Bowls.
Case in point, Brady already has posted on social media that he is chasing a seventh ring. But, as it stands right now, the ultimate NFL GOAT only has one accomplished receiver under contract in Julian Edelman.
Therefore, expect the Patriots to go big to get another top receiver weapon. The ultimate prize would be one Antonio Brown.
What a dream scenario that would be.
Imagine how magical a Brady-to-Brown connection would be in New England.
Well, if you could, then the Pittsburgh Steelers can also. That’s why the defending Super Bowl champions are on a list of four teams they will not even take phone calls from.
And you really can’t blame them. Why would they want to help the New England Patriots get better? The same goes for their division rivals (Cleveland Browns, Cincinnati Bengals and Baltimore Ravens.)
That’s just how big of a game-changer Antonio Brown is. Disgruntled and all, the Steelers do not want to face this man twice a year, they don’t even want to face him once.
So, as exciting as it would be, the New England Patriots won’t be trading for Antonio Brown at least for this season.
Would Antonio Brown fit in New England?

There are a few teams Antonio Brown would be a great fit with. The Indianapolis Colts have the cap space and the young roster. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers could be in the mix, considering DeSean Jackson has asked to be traded or released. There aren’t many teams Brown wouldn’t make better.
That does include the New England Patriots. If you think about what the team started to get with Josh Gordon, Brown would be doubly explosive on the field.
Off the field, he would have to make some adjustments to adapt to the Patriot Way, but so did Randy Moss. When a team is winning and things are going great, Brown would be a model citizen at least for a season. Bill Belichick simply wouldn’t put up with the nonsense Mike Tomlin did.
When it comes to quarterbacks, Tom Brady would garner more respect from Brown than Ben Roethlisberger. So in theory it would work, but the Pittsburgh Steelers aren’t going for that even if the Patriots presented the best offer.
In summary, get any Antonio Brown dream scenarios out of your head. It’s not happening in 2019. Then again, who would’ve thought Darrelle Revis would end up in a New England Patriots uniform. Sometimes crazy things do happen.
