J.D. Martinez

One of the best power hitters on the Red Sox roster is J.D. Martinez. He can absolutely mash a baseball. That’s one of the reasons he could find himself in the All-Star game.

They say that chicks dig the long ball but I’m pretty sure that people from all walks can agree that home runs get the people going. The home run race between Sammy Sosa and Marck McGwire was the peak of excitement in MLB.

Martinez already has 12 home runs this season and would be a perfect candidate for the home run derby. He is also a fan favorite so the fans will definitely be out voting for him.

As much as the MLB hates to admit it, the All-Star vote is mostly a popularity contest. That is why you see a lot of the same players year in and year out.

So I wouldn’t be surprised if J.D. Martinez found his way into the All-Star game this year.
