New England Patriots: 3 reasons to worry about Week 2 in Miami
By Sam Minton
1. Miami has New England’s number
For some reason whenever the Patriots go down south there play seems to dip.
Out of all the AFC East teams, the Dolphins are the most difficult to defeat for the Patriots. New England has a record of 50-54 against Miami. Lifetime on the road New England has a .410 winning percentage against the dolphins.
Now some may discount this to some of the poorer teams that played before Tom Brady and Bill Belichick, but recently the record isn’t pretty as well. Since 2000 the team is 8-10 on the road against the Dolphins.
If New England was going to lose a game to start the season I wouldn’t be surprised if it was down in Miami in Week 2. History has proven that the Patriots are prone to slip up in South Florida.
So hopefully I’m wrong but it seems like Miami has New England’s number when the dolphins are at home.
