New England Patriots: Rob Gronkowski is not coming back and its okay
By Matt Fiore
The big announcement by Rob Gronkowski this week was not what many New England Patriots fans were hoping for.
Rob Gronkowski made his big announcement Tuesday, and it probably upset and disappointed many New England Patriots fans. Most went to bed last night hoping to see the news that the great tight end would be out of retirement once 9 a.m. came on that Tuesday morning.
That wasn’t the case, the 30-year-old announced he would be throwing a “championship of partying” in Miami during Super Bowl weekend. This appears to be the finishing spike to him returning to the Patriots in the 2019 NFL season.
What makes this news hurt even more is the poor play of the Patriots offense without Rob Gronkowski.
The New England Patriots brass had remained hopeful of a Gronk return, including Tom Brady and Robert Kraft. Brady mentioning how he would welcome him back with open arms, but wants him to do what’s best for him. Kraft giving a more detailed plead, saying how his retirement papers aren’t officially turned in, so there is always hope.
The link to his announcement via his Instagram is attached here:
If for some reason Rob Gronkowski turns a 180 on his decision, he would have until November 30th. The last day for retired players to come back before being ineligible for the rest of the season.

Gronk’s tease has been ongoing, using social media as his way of laundering Patriots fans with cryptic tweets and posts that tipped he might be coming back. Some might think this was all an advertisement stunt, to draw in more fans to his “big announcements.”
His first announcement came a few months ago, where he partnered with a CBD infused oil company, something that helped him recover from his lengthy injury history during his tenure in the NFL. He mentioned that he was almost 100 percent healthy from all his past injuries, which gave Patriots nation even more hope he would return to the field.
Evidently, that wasn’t the case.
So the New England Patriots must continue life without the three-time Super Bowl champ, and one of the most dominant players this dynasty has seen. With a coach like Bill Belichick, who knows a thing or two about replacing star players, the New England Patriots will be okay.
