With the New England Patriots offense continuing to struggle, one NFL legend believes help is on the way.  Is that Antonio Brown?

As shocking as it was when the New England Patriots first signed Antonio Brown, it will be almost more shocking if they were to give in and bring the controversial receiver back to the team, especially after he went off on owner Robert Kraft on social media following his release.

But, after how things have panned out the weeks following Brown’s release, would a reunion be out of the realm of possibility?

Listen, the offense is struggling.  Receivers are having a difficult time creating separation and Tom Brady is pouting, frustrated and throwing helmets and would could be his last game in a New England Patriots uniform whether he retires or plays someplace else.

After all this man has done for this team in the last two decades, can Kraft and Bill Belichick let him really go out like this?

Now, the latter is perfectly fine with his defense leading the way.  However, as proven in the team’s two losses against the Baltimore Ravens and Houston Texans, they are going to need some offense.  So, unless Mohamed Sanu, Phillip Dorsett, Jakobi Meyers and N’Keal Harry turn into this year’s version of Danny Amendola, Chris Hogan and even Brandon LaFell, this team needs help.

On par with a report that Patriots coaches and players would welcome Antonio Brown back, NFL great Deion Sanders made a guarantee that help is on the way in the form of a quick veteran wide receiver capable of giving Tom Brady the help he needs.

While the name Antonio Brown didn’t come out of his mouth, Sanders is close with AB and knows Tom Brady and the NFL’s best receiver when he’s on the field would be the perfect marriage going into the stretch run.

More from New England Patriots

With other veteran receivers like Jordan Matthews and Michael Crabtree out there, Brown does make the most sense because he is somewhat familiar with the Patriots offense and would certainly create separation even if double teamed.  The trickle-down effect with having Antonio Brown on the field will open things up for Julian Edelman even more and make Mohamed Sanu and N’Keal Harry more effective as third and fourth options.

It will also open up things for the tight ends and running backs out of the backfield.

So, is the drama surrounding Brown off the field worth it?  If not for a text he sent to one of his accusers, perhaps AB would still be in a Patriots’ uniform.  Perhaps the offense would’ve taken off and the grumpy Tom Brady would be a more confident Tom Brady.

For all those who say no way, listen up!

It’s four weeks left to the NFL season and it doesn’t appear the NFL is going to step in and suspend Antonio Brown anytime soon.  Despite his silly, obnoxious behavior through social media, the man is innocent until proven guilty.  Kraft and the New England Patriots organization know a little bit about having to prove innocence, so let’s suck it up and make this thing work.

Let’s put that smile back on Tom Brady’s face and get that explosive offense back.  Besides, the team is already paying the man.
