Kemba Walker bounces back

You can’t keep a prolific shooter like Kemba Walker down.

Going up against his former team, Walker bounced back from a 2-point performance against the Detroit Pistons with 23 points against the Pistons.

Due to the 39-point performance by Jayson Tatum, Walker again got to step back a little offensively, but did start the game off in assertive fashion to get his offensive game back flowing.

While deferring to the hot hand is not something Kemba Walker had the luxury of doing during his time in Charlotte, he is enjoying the fact that he doesn’t have to be that guy all the time in Boston.  He can score limited points and be a factor doing other things on the court.

On Friday night, he did it as a facilitator dishing out 11 assists against the Pistons.

On Sunday night, it was picking his spots offensively, while allowing Jayson Tatum to do his thing in the second half of the game.

With the ability to take over any game offensively at any time, it is good to see a star player put the team and winning ahead of his own stats.  In helping lead the Boston Celtics to a 20-7 record to start the season, Kemba Walker continues to the type of leader Brad Stevens envisions out there on the court.
