Boston Celtics: Marcus Smart has epic new nickname
By Sam Minton

Marcus Smart has returned from a brutal eye infection that inspired his Boston Celtics teammates to give him a super awesome nickname.
Ever since Marcus Smart joined the Boston Celtics we knew he did some awesome things. He would never give up and would do anything to help his team win.
Smart is known for his scrappy style of play. He will dive for loose balls, take charges, whatever it takes to help the C’s.
It doesn’t matter how much the Celtics are winning or losing by. Whenever Smart is on the court he gives 110 percent.
As you could guess, Smart is a tough player. He seems to always return from injuries rather quickly.
Smart’s latest setback was quite difficult. It almost took away his vision. Smart had a severe eye infection that kept him out for almost a month.
But Smart is back and is already making a difference. He is averaging 7 points, 4.5 assist, 4 rebounds, and 2 steals a game.
Because of Marcus Smart’s great healing ability, he has gotten a new nickname. His teammates are now calling him Wolverine.
Marcus Smart just told me pregame that he has earned a new nickname from his teammates. They now refer to him as WOLVERINE because of his body's ability to heal and come back quickly after an injury.

If you aren’t a big comic/superhero fan (you are really missing out), Wolverine is known for his ability to heal rapidly.
You can not discount Smart’s role on the team. He is able to give the team life in a split second. His defense has single-handedly won games for the team.
Marcus Smart seems to have been born to play in Boston. He plays like he is playing for his hometown team. He is willing to give everything for his teammates.
dark. Next. 3 Celtics New Year’s resolutions for 2020 and beyond
So hopefully Smart will continue to electrify the team as the Boston Celtics continue to be one of the best teams in Eastern Conference. Maybe we could see Marcus Smart finally get a championship ring (something none of us could have expected at the beginning of the season).
