Xander Bogaerts

A reason why it is immature to give up on the stardom on a player like Andrew Benintendi is because of the breakout season of Boston Red Sox shortstop Xander Bogaerts in 2019.

A contract extension well worth the money, Bogaerts really transcended into one of the leaders on the team and also one of the best shortstops in all of baseball.

With two World Series championships already under his belt, Bogaerts took a solid 2018 season and turned it into an even better offensive season in 2019 adding some power to his swing with 33 homers and 117 RBI while batting .309.

Along with his ability to come through in the clutch, Xander Bogaerts was a tough out in 2019 adding a second Silver Slugger award to his resume along with a second All-Star appearance.

At just 27 years old, the last two seasons appeared to be just the beginning for the Boston Red Sox infielder, who along with Rafael Devers and Eduardo Rodriguez, really put some shine on a disappointing 2019 MLB season.

There is a decade of excellence in store for Xander Bogaerts.
