Actually having a running game

One of the most disappointing parts of the New England Patriots 2019 season is the lack of a running game.

This was Sony Michel’s worst season. After an amazing performance in the 2018 playoffs, no one could have expected Michel to struggle as much as he did.

Now the stats are a bit misleading. Michel had a similar output in yardage and even had 7 touchdowns. But for the majority of the season, Michel struggled to gain yards. He was a hindrance to New England’s offense instead of an asset.

Because of this opposing defenses could key in on Tom Brady and Julian Edelman. This season was a struggle for New England’s offense.

If Sony Michel can bounce back he will take the pressure off of Tom Brady and make the Patriots offense much more balanced.

A balanced offense will make the road to the Super Bowl much more easier.
