Jared Pinkney appears to be someone the New England Patriots are interested in and the tight end gave a glimpse into the team’s draft process.

A very few select people get to experience the draft process. It’s something that a majority of the population will never experience. Thanks to Jared Pinkney we got a peek into how the New England Patriots operate.

There is no doubt that the Patriots are looking for a tight end. The 2019 season proved how much they need one and that was before the retirement of Ben Watson.

It looks like the Patriots have their eyes set on Jared Pinkney. The tight end of Purdue struggled in his senior season but showed promise while in school.

In his junior year, Pinkney had 50 catches for 774 yards and 7 touchdowns. That is exactly what the Patriots need.

Now at the combine, we saw that Pinkney isn’t going to set any land speed records. His 40 time wasn’t that impressive clocking in at 5 seconds.

But the Patriots don’t need a speedster at tight end. They need someone who can block but also be a threat in the red zone.

Pinkney is an old school tight end and after the struggles of Sony Michel last season they need someone like him. He is a hard worker and we know how much Bill Belichick loves those.

Also, we have seen the magic of Belichick and the New England Patriots. They can turn anyone into a star.

The Patriots are already teaching Pinkney some tricks at the Scouting Combine.

"I gave a kind of wonky answer, and it was like, ‘No, that’s a loser’s mentality.’ And I was like, ‘OK, my bad.’ (raises hands) They were like, ‘You need to be like this and that and that,’ and I was like, ‘Yes, sir. I’m better.’ ”"

The case for re-signing Danny Shelton. dark. Next

If the Patriots were to select Pinkney in the middle of the draft I think they could make him into a quality starter. If he can put up numbers similar to his junior year at Purdue, New England Patriots fans will be more than happy.
