Jacob Eason is getting compared to Tom Brady and there is a chance he ends up on the New England Patriots in 2020.

This offseason will be full of changes for the New England Patriots and their fans. The biggest one arguably being at the quarterback position.

As we continue to get deeper into the offseason it seems like the chances of Tom Brady returning to the team are dwindling. So New England has to start looking at their options.

With the Scouting Combine occurring over the weekend a lot of focus has been put on the quarterback class of the 2020 NFL Draft. There are you big stars like Joe Burrow, Tua Tagovailoa, and Jake Fromm, but there are also some guys flying under the radar.

One of these guys who hasn’t been talked about is Jacob Eason.

Eason is coming off a strong junior season at the University of Washington. He threw for over 3,000 yards and 23 touchdowns while only throwing 8 interceptions.

There are plenty of reasons why the Patriots should be intrigued by Eason. He is comfortable under center and in the shotgun and is known for his play action ability. Eason also has an impressive arm that would open up the Patriots offense for some more deep balls.

The problem with Eason is his pocket presence. He needs to be better under pressure and with the Patriots offensive line looking shaky that will have to happen quickly.

Eason is getting some interesting comparisons. The gunslinger is being compared to Tom Brady.

Like Brady, Eason was behind a quarterback in college. Before he transferred to Washington, Eason was stuck behind Jake Fromm.

While Brady was at Michigan he was stuck in a battle with Drew Henson for the starting spot. Unlike Brady, after one season Eason would transfer schools. It’s safe to say that move paid off.

Eason is projected to be selected in the early rounds so the Patriots might have to grab him with their 1st round pick. If he does he will get the chance to prove that the Tom Brady comparisons were correct.
