Xander Bogaerts

When you sign a new contract you want to prove to the fans and your team that you are worth the investment. A lot of players haven’t been able to do that yet.

More from Boston Red Sox

The Red Sox signed Xander Bogaerts to a massive deal before the season. It was definitely a smart move seeing that Mookie Betts is no longer on the team. Bogaerts is someone you can build around.

Bogaerts deal will pay him a total of $20 million over 6 years. That type of money can add some pressure.

X is coming off the best MLB season of his career. He belted 33 home runs for 117 RBIs and also had a .309 batting average.

If Bogaerts wants to make fans happy he will have to put up similar numbers. Most important;y you will want to continue to see Bogaerts get over 100 RBIs and have a batting average hovering around .300.

Bogaerts will be apart of a stacked left side of the infield. Hopefully, the Red Sox will sign Rafael Devers to a long term deal as these two have the potential to bring in a lot of runs.

Being away from the game and stuck at home just adds more pressure for Bogaerts. Now he will have fewer games to prove he is a valuable investment.
