Third round, No. 93 overall (from Tenn.): Lynn Bowden Jr., wide receiver, Kentucky

Changing gears here. I’m retooling a bit and trying to ensure that Lynn Bowden, Jr. a multi-faceted talent is inserted along with Jalen Hurts in this dynamic new New England Patriots offense.

Bowden is a great fit. Bowden is pegged as a wide receiver but he also was an excellent quarterback for Kentucky last season. That gives the New England Patriots some options.

"In a rare twist, Bowden is both versatile and a little bit limited. He might require a plan to maximize his value. While he’s a slot receiver by position, creative play-callers can use him as a zone-read quarterback and as a gadget receiver for jet sweeps and a variety of short catch-and-run screens."

Bowden fits the versatility, mobility and diversity capability dimensions of the new offense we are putting together. It also helps that he has experience at QB and WR. Bowden is an exceptional athlete who would help transform the New England Patriots offense.

Bowden also returns kicks. He will help rectify an abysmal return capability last season for New England. The possibilities with these versatile yet very talented players are almost endless.

The absolute last thing the NFL wants to see from New England is this new offense. Absolutely the last thing.

They’d like to see the Tom Brady offense without Brady. But a major change in course with these players in this new offense will present an absolute nightmare for the Patriots’ AFC East opponents and the rest of the NFL. How exciting would that be?

Bowden, Hurts and Edelman would be great trio of multi-faceted individuals for your reconstructed New England Patriots’ offense. To start with. But it’s still not enough. It gets even better with New England’s next pick.

Note: In addition, I would add another player later in the draft from one of Bill Belichick’s favorite colleges, The United States Naval Academy. Since this draft deals only with rounds one through four, he won’t be included in detail here. It’s Navy quarterback/wide receiver Malcolm Perry. An article speaks about him in more detail. Perry would be another awesome fit.
