Boston Red Sox newcomer Collin McHugh can secure the rotation.

The Boston Red Sox didn’t make a ton of moves this offseason but with the departure of David Price and Sale’s injury they brought in some pitching talent.

One of the guys they brought in was former Astros pitcher Collin McHugh.

McHugh is a veteran of the game. He has 8 seasons under his belt and has played for a few teams. He also has postseason experience winning a World Series in Houston.

Last season wasn’t McHugh’s best. He went 4-5 with a 4.70 ERA. The Red Sox are giving him a chance to prove that he is better than that.

The Astros didn’t exactly help McHugh either. They moved him to the bullpen because they had such a stacked starting rotation.

Boston is hoping that they get a similar output that Collin McHugh had in 2015. As a member of the Astros, McHugh went 19-7 with a 3.89 ERA as well as 171 strikeouts. Having a guy like that in the middle of your rotation would be quite the advantage.

Next. Rafael Devers better than Bryce Harper. dark

So baseball is back and these 5 players will definitely have the attention of Red Sox fans.
