New England Patriots: Cam Newton and Mohamed Sanu already working out
By Sam Minton
Even though Cam Newton just signed with the New England Patriots, he is already working out with his new teammate Mohamed Sanu.
The ink has barely dried on Cam Newton’s contract with the New England Patriots and he is already making fans happy. Newton looks like a man on a mission to show he is still one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL.
Now things won’t necessarily be a cakewalk for Newton. He will be entering a QB competition with Jarrett Stidham. It’s hard not to think that Newton is the favorite as things stand right now.
One of the first things Newton will have to do is build chemistry with his new teammates. It looks like he is already getting to work.
Pictures surfaced on Instagram of Newton working out with Mohamed Sanu. We don’t really know what exactly the duo worked on but just the fact that they are already working out proves a point.
Also in the video, you see just how big Newton is. He towers over Sanu and the wideout is 6’2″.
It looks like Sanu and Newton are staying in shape and will be ready whenever the regular season begins.

Both Newton and Sanu have something to prove. Starting with Newton he has dealt with injury problems. A key for Newton in 2020 will be staying healthy.
Also, Newton will want to prove that he is still one of the best QB’s in the NFL. He is such a talented player.
Newton’s arm has improved as his career has progressed and it looks like the Patriots will be able to utilize the deep ball. In 2020 Sanu and N’Keal Harry should hopefully have much better seasons than they did in 2019.
But Newton can also run the ball. Josh McDaniels will likely craft up an interesting playbook including some RPO plays. This would allow Newton to use his speed and giant body to gain yards on the ground. Unlike most quarterbacks, Newton isn’t afraid of contact. The bad thing is that can lead to him getting injured.
Sanu had a rough introduction to New England. After one good game, Sanu finished the season with 26 catches, 207 yards, and a touchdown. It was a letdown to say the least.
To be fair, Sanu got injured on a punt return, but in 2020 he needs to be better. Now that Newton is a Patriot, expectations will be high.
So Newton is already showing that the New England Patriots made the right decision.
