New England Patriots: Cam Newton leading workouts should excite fans
New England Patriots working out together is a great sign that the team is getting locked-on for the 2020 season and the sky is the limit
According to a report by NESN, several New England Patriots have been working out together in preparation for the upcoming 2020 season. This bodes well since new quarterback Cam Newton is now at the helm.
The participants mentioned are 2019 first-round pick, N’Keal Harry, and 2020 third-round pick tight end Devin Asiasi.
How about that, Yes!
If that isn’t good news for Patriots fans, what is in this dead-zone of NFL news?
It’s great news. Let’s explore why. First, it shows indisputably that Cam Newton is not just coming to New England to play 16 games, he’s here to win, Baby! He’s mobilizing his troops. And these aren’t even his bonafide, proven fighters. These are the wannabees. Don’t be surprised if the “already-bees” are next to join the club.
Expect Julian Edelman, James White, Rex Burkhead, and Mohamed Sanu to join up as well, in a group. This what it’s all about. The group. The TEAM.
Look, this Cam Revolution doesn’t have to be just a one-year fireworks event. No way. This is hopefully the prelude to a long-term relationship between No. 1 on the Patriots (gotta love the number) and the No. 1 team in the NFL! Cam and New England, a match for the ages.
Cam was an outcast at Carolina (what a joke for that franchise). New England was well, left out in-the-cold by its all-time great quarterback (probably for all the right reasons.). But what better “marriage de convenience” (convenient marriage for the non-French speakers among us) than Cam and the New England Patriots?
It’s not easy to be excited as a long-time (more years than I’d like to admit) fan of my beloved New England Patriots when a few months ago your all-time best player (though not this fellow’s all-time favorite player, that will always be Tedy Bruschi) leaves us unceremoniously for Tampa Bay.
Tampa Bay? Blah. Devastating.
But, the
started to flow when the Patriots did the right thing and inked Cam to a contract. Had hoped for it. Written about it. And lo and behold, maybe willed it! Well, not. But, in any event, it happened. Cam is a Patriot. And everything has changed.

The spark has been lit. The light has been rekindled. The spirit has been revived. Cam Newton is a Patriot. He’s our Patriot. The past, the glorious past is, well, past. The future, perhaps the glorious future, is now. With Cam Newton at the helm, anything is possible.
