New England Patriots have to adapt to the personality and stardom of Cam Newton

When talking about the faces of the New England Patriots in the 2020 season, you have to start with the man replacing the great Tom Brady.

In Cam Newton, the Patriots aren’t only getting a different, outspoken personality, but they are getting a different kind of beast on the football field.

Already a presence on social media, which has already been seen with his multiple posts since singing the one-year deal with the Patriots, Cam Newton is a player Bill Belichick and the Patriots locker room will have to adapt to.

What that means is Belichick is going to have to be a little lenient on what he allows from Newton as a personality on and off the field.  He has dealt with players like Newton before in Chad Johnson and Randy Moss, so we all know it is possible.  When it comes to talent and what a player can potentially bring to the team, the Patriots coach is very flexible.

He will have to be with Cam Newton because win or lose he will be the story now that he has officially been named the starting quarterback and also a team captain.

Not only will he bring a new type of energy and excitement to the team, he could end up being the story of 2020 in the entire NFL.  Former New England Patriots safety Rodney Harrison articulated just what Newton has on the line this upcoming season.

"“Cam Newton is fighting for his football career,” Harrison said in an appearing in an episode of ProFootballTalk, via NBC Sports. “Forget about everything he’s done in the past. If he can’t beat out Jarrett Stidham, first of all, he’s going to be a career backup. His career like we knew it is over. Cam Newton is more focused, more humble, more motivated than he’s ever been, and he’s more ticked off. This is the same situation that I was in. When you come to a new team and have the opportunity to play for Bill Belichick, and you have so much respect for who he is and what he’s accomplished, you just want to be part of something great.”"

If Cam Newton re-establishes his MVP-caliber success on the field, he will not only be one of the faces of the New England Patriots in 2020, he may get himself a massive contract with another team if not the Patriots in 2021 and beyond.
