Cam Newton

There is one player that everyone will be talking about. Cam Newton had a great start to his Patriots career. He was arguably the best player on the field.

Newton proved one thing. He isn’t rusty and he is rather healthy. Newton looked like a former MVP, not an aging quarterback.

More from New England Patriots

In the passing game, Newton was rather accurate. He was 15 for 19 with 155 yards and a passer rating of 100.7.

Newton failed to throw for a touchdown but the accuracy is the most important thing. He didn’t throw an interception and had a completion percentage close to 80 percent.

Running the ball Newton was most impressive. Newton had the most rushing yards with 75 yards and also had two touchdowns.

The Patriots designed runs exclusively for Newton. This will add another wrench when game planning for New England’s offense.

Cam’s running ability showed that he is healthy and ready to compete. He is still the same player that we saw in Carolina.

Newton couldn’t have had a better start to his Patriots career. Hopefully, he can continue to improve as the season progresses.
