Stephon Gilmore

2019 was one of the best seasons of Stephon Gilmore’s career. He was named Defensive Player of the Year and was a crucial part of New England’s defense.

Now with the lack of stars up front, Gilmore will need to be even better. His play will determine just how far the Patriots go.

If Gilmore can maintain the level of play that he had in Week 1, the team will do just fine.

Gilmore grabbed his first interception of the season. It truly was a great catch and shoed just how skilled the cornerback is. Gilmore truly hasn’t lost a step.

Also, Gilmore once again went up against DeVante Parker, Miami’s best receiver. In Week 17 of 2019, Parker gained over 100 yards.

Gilmore did much better covering Parker on Sunday. He was only able to grab four catches for 47 yards. Gilmore locked him down.

If Gilmore keeps playing like this he will once again be the DPOY and the Patriots will be very successful in 2020.
