Bobby Wagner bringing the ‘Boom’ back to Seattle?

The Seattle Seahawks gave up 506 yards of total offense against the Atlanta Falcons in Week 1, but don’t let that fool you.

Linebacker Bobby Wagner is not only the lone leftover member of the “Legion of Boom” era, he leads a defense that is very tough and opportunistic.  If Pete Carroll is to limit what Cam Newton and the New England Patriots do on the ground as well as in the air as Carroll said Wagner is coming off his best defensive game in pass coverage.

More from New England Patriots

"“I thought Bobby played his best game pass defense – wise that he’s ever played,” Carroll said, via the Seattle Times.  “Active, and on point with the breaks he was making.  He impacted our play quite a bit.  You couldn’t miss the play be Jamal running and hitting.  I thought [Quandre] Diggs, too, had some good top-off and some nice plays, too.  As well as the rest of the guys.  [Lano] Hill, Marquise [Blair].  Having all the speed on the field, we’re faster than we’ve been.  It shows up in our pursuit.”"

What Bobby Wagner brings to the Seahawks’ defense besides his ability to make plays all over the field is the attitude he installs.  Is he bringing that boom back to Seattle?

In giving up a total of 506 yards of offense, it is hard to even compare this Seattle group to that lethal group of Wagner, Earl Thomas, Richard Sherman and Kam Chancellor, but that speed Carroll is talking about will be a big challenge for the New England Patriots offense, particularly Cam Newton who will have to do it with both his feet and arm.

Bobby Wager as well as the player listed next have the ability of dominating this game and dictating what the Patriots are able to do on the offensive side of the ball.
