The emergence of N’keal Harry continues

The chemistry is building on and off the field between Cam Newton and N’Keal Harry.

A week after Newton stood up for the second-year wide receiver after an almost costly fumble in Week 1, Harry bounced back with his most effective game in a Patriots’ uniform.

The big wide receiver recorded 8 catches for 72 yards in the Week 2 loss against the Seattle Seahawks with some big catches on the last drive of the game.  That kind of production and trust from the quarterback will only build the confidence of a talent like N’Keal Harry.

More from New England Patriots

The New England Patriots certainly need for Harry to morph into a reliable target with No. 1 receiver capability.  With the trust from Cam Newton and a veteran receiver like Julian Edelman serving as his mentor, good things are ahead for the 2019 first-round pick.

In sharing some wisdom with N’Keal Harry, Edelman’s performance on the field appears to also be rubbing off on the Arizona State product.

"“I just kind of share with him little things that helped me when I was young,” Edelman said during a video conference, as transcribed by NESN.  “We’ve all been young in the locker room, we’ve all been new to an environment, and I don’t know anywhere else, but here it’s a little different, I guess.  That’s what everyone says.  You just try to give him little tidbits on things that make things more routine and comfortable for him.”"

That comfort and confidence will show even more in Week 3.

Bold prediction: N’Keal Harry has 5 catches and will record his first 100-yard receiving game.
