Here are five New England Patriots players picked to have a big game against the Kansas City Chiefs in the Week 4 matchup.

Following a positive COVID test for both teams, the New England Patriots and Kansas City Chiefs are suddenly playing a Monday night game featuring Patrick Mahomes vs Brian Hoyer at quarterback.

With Cam Newton out for the game, this isn’t the prime attraction it was, but it is a game that certainly puts the coaching of Bill Belichick and Josh McDaniels in the spotlight.

If the Patriots pull off this game with what the team has faced the last 48 hours, there will be no doubting the coaching of both.  Belichick has a resume of leading his teams to wins when they are least expected to win, but for McDaniels, this will possibly be the highlight of his coaching career if he can upset the high-powered Chiefs with Brian Hoyer at quarterback.

It would be one thing if the Patriots had high-level playmakers surrounding him but give the team’s lack of playmakers at the wide receiver and tight end positions to begin with, McDaniels will have to be very creative utilizing his running back depth.

On the defensive end, Belichick has had some success against Mahomes, but not for a full 60 minutes.  The challenge will be to keep the Chiefs’ offense off the field by chewing up clock when the Patriots have the ball.  It will be tough without Cam Newton, but the Chiefs have been susceptible against the run in the past which plays right into the Patriots strength on offense.

In all, it will be interesting as to how the New England Patriots attack the Kansas City Chiefs on both sides of the ball.  Here are five players to watch if the team is to have any success in this Week 4 matchup.
