New England Patriots: Denver Broncos are whining for no reason
By Sam Minton
After the New England Patriots Week 5 game was canceled, multiple Denver Broncos players complained about the decision.
Well here we are. The NFL continues to prove that they are the most dysfunctional league in all of sports. How they handled the New England Patriots latest stint of games has been atrocious.
Patriots fans woke up to some more bad news on Sunday. The NFL announced that their game with the Denver Broncos that was scheduled for Monday had been postponed due to a positive COVID-19 test.
Now the Patriots are playing next Sunday, the 18th. This past week was their new bye week. The Patriots schedule has been put in a blender and so has the rest of the NFL.
If there is anyone who deserves to get blamed for this it’s the NFL. They should have known that this would have happened. How could they have not seen this coming?
They easily could have tweaked the schedule to prepare for an event like this. The league could have scheduled an extra bye week. Also, they could have shortened the season.
But they didn’t. The NFL tried to forge ahead and act like everything was okay.
When it came to the Patriots game getting canceled it seemed like one team was more upset than the other. All the Broncos could do is complain about the decision.
Now I can understand why the Broncos are upset, but there is no reason to attack the Patriots. They haven’t done anything wrong.
New England is not like the Titans who were having illegal practices. The Patriots went above and beyond to be safe by shutting down the facility. Bill Belichick doesn’t just wear one mask, he wears two. It’s clear that New England is doing its best
The Patriots don’t exactly make out great either. They would have much rather that their game against the Chiefs was postponed. Then New England could have at least had Cam Newton when they faced Kansas City.
Denver can’t use the Patriots as a scapegoat. There is only one side who has committed wrongdoing. The NFL has royally screwed things up so far this season.
