Best Team: New England Revolution

While the “big four” Boston professional sports teams all had disappointing 2020 seasons, it was actually a great season for the New England Revolution.

Despite finishing in eighth place in the Eastern Conference during the regular season, the Revolution went on an impressive run through the MLS Cup Playoffs, advancing all the way to the Eastern Conference Final. Given that prior to this season, New England had not won a playoff round since 2014, the 2020 season has to be considered a major success for Bruce Arena and the Revolution.

Honorable Mention: Boston Celtics

Honorable Mention: August 17, Bruins score four third period goals in playoff comeback vs. the Carolina Hurricanes.
