New England Patriots: Three players who ended 2020 season on a high note – No.2: Sony Michel
2020 was another disappointing season for Sony Michel. He continued to prove that the Patriots might have wasted a draft pick on him and that the offense still had a lot of work to do.
Michel can make fans want to pull out their hair while watching him run. At times he can struggle to gain yards as he should.
This season fans fell in love with Damien Harris who ran hard and was able to burst onto the scene. He seems as though he will be the top back in New England moving forward.
Michel missed a large chunk of time due to injury. If he can’t stay on the field it’s hard to justify keeping him on the team.
But on Sunday, Michel had a quality performance. He racked up 76 yards on 16 carries. Especially for Michel that isn’t too bad.
Michel might be running out of chances. It honestly wouldn’t be surprising to see New England move on from him within the next year.
If Michel wants to stay he will have to have a lot more performances as he did in Week 17.
