Closer: Boston Red Sox acquire Josh Hader

As important has re-establishing their starting rotation, the Boston Red Sox need to add a reliable, dominant closer to the mix and Milwaukee Brewers closer Josh Hader would be just that.

He has been absolutely dominant since making his MLB debut back in 2017, making 172 appearances, with 62 saves, 39 holds and a crazy good 380 strikeouts in 223.2 career innings.

More from Red Sox Rumors

While Matt Barnes played the role in 2020, pushing him back as a setup man would more than stabilize the backend of the Red Sox pitching staff.

Now, there were rumors surrounding Josh Hader back in 2019 prior to the MLB Winter Meetings, so this is a potential trade that could be worth re-visiting if the Brewers have their ears open to offers.

With his age and the way he comes in the game gassing it up, the Boston Red Sox could find the answer to one of their biggest holes since Craig Kimbrel departed.  The only question with this flamethrower is how he will handle pitching for a big market team like the Red Sox.

In all, Hader has some dominant stuff and has proved it pitching for a contending team, so adding him to the Boston Red Sox bullpen would definitely a move that would send waves through the rest of MLB.
