No. 2: Ben Affleck and Matt Damon

Like many New England Patriots fans, both Ben Affleck and Matt Damon rode the train of the last two decades with pride as fans and Bostonians.

It is hard not to lump these two celebrities together as they have been since they busted on the scene back in 1997 with “Good Will Hunting.”

Ironically, that was three years before Bill Belichick, Tom Brady and the start of an NFL dynasty captured the hearts of the country…well at least for that 2001 Super Bowl run.

More from New England Patriots

As far as fandom goes, there are no bigger celebrity superfans than Affleck and Damon when it comes to their Boston sports teams in general.  Both have been seen at numerous sports events around town and both have been outspoken about the Patriots before and after Tom Brady.

Ben Affleck and Matt Damon tried to get Tom Brady to stay with the New England Patriots

Again, like many Patriots fans, Affleck had to face the possibility and reality of a team without the services of Brady.  Here is what he said prior to TB12 departing New England for Tampa Bay after the 2019 NFL season ended.

"“If it does happen, what does a Belichick team look like without Brady and what does a Brady team look like without Belichick?” Affleck said, via WBZ Boston last February."

Well, that Belichick team failed to make the playoffs and that Brady team has a chance to advance to the NFC Championship game, but that doesn’t take away the love these two superfans have for the home team even if their efforts to keep Brady in New England failed.
