New England Patriots trade options

Deshaun Watson

Quarterbacks wanting out has become a massive story to watch this offseason, but most of it starts and ends with Deshaun Watson.

The Houston Texans and Watson seem to be done, even if the Texans don’t want to trade him right now. Eventually, it is going to come to a final result which many believe is Watson on another team.

The Patriots are at a disadvantage when it comes to trying to acquire him, as the New York Jets have a far better shot. But it would be silly to not at least include him.

Sam Darnold

It’s a real shame that Sam Darnold is the quarterback of the New York Jets. Not only for his career but also because it makes it a bit tougher for the Patriots to acquire him.

The Jets currently sit with the No. 2 overall selection in the draft. They could take a quarterback and trade Darnold to someone. Belichick at the very least should be interested in Darnold because of how good he can be.

More from New England Patriots

Carson Wentz

The interest level in Carson Wentz so far has not been high if reports are to be believed. Many teams are afraid that Wentz may not be the quarterback he once looked like anymore and that makes sense. The contract is also terrifying because of how big the money is, but if Wentz were to be fixed, Belichick could be the man for the job.

Wentz’s numbers 16-15 TD/INT ratio is pretty bad, but we have to remember that for most of the games he started, it was practice squad receivers at the helm. He could be someone they swoop in for if that price goes down.

Jimmy Garoppolo

You knew this was coming. Jimmy Garoppolo was the man Belichick drafted to replace Brady once upon a time and the rumblings that Kyle Shanahan might be ready to move on instantly makes the Patriots the No. 1 contender to bring Garoppolo in.

“Jimmy G” is only a year removed from competing in the Super Bowl and knows the system better than anyone that is on the market right now. This is very possible.
