Boston Bruins: 3 keys to winning Game 2 against Washington Capitals – No.2: Just put shots on net

It was a tough night for Boston’s offense as a whole. They were unable to take advantage of the opportunity that they were gifted.

While it might seem like a simple argument it’s one that Bruins fans are very familiar with. The team just did not shoot the puck enough in Game One.

More from Boston Bruins

Boston should have outshot Washington as they had a goaltender who hadn’t played in a long time. There was some visible rust as Anderson gave up some juicy rebounds.

But the Caps outshot Boston 32-26. The fact that the B’s couldn’t even get 30 shots on net is upsetting to say the least.

No matter who is in net, the Bruins need to shoot more. It’s hard to score when you are looking for the perfect play. Sometimes the best solution is the simplest one, just shoot the puck. It’s part of the reason that they brought in Craig Smith.

If Boston manages to get more shots on net than Washington, the B’s have a good chance to tie up the series on Monday night.
