The time is now for New England Patriots rookie Rhamondre Stevenson

New England Patriots 2021 fourth-round pick Rhamondre Stevenson took his LeGarrette Blount comparison to another level this preseason.

With a total of 216 yards rushing and 5 touchdowns in the 3 preseason games, Stevenson not only wow’d fans, but he also impressed teammates and ex-players with his power and explosive   running style, especially the 91-yard burst against the Washington Football Team in the first game.

While Patriots fans are excited, there is still a change Stevenson doesn’t get many snaps during the regular season unless there are injuries.  But, the Oklahoma product can change that by continuing to get better and showing Bill Belichick his time is now.

Asked about Stevenson this week, Belichick gave some praise, but emphasized ball security as the rookie did fumble the ball during the preseason.

"“Every player has their own style, so I don’t know,” Belichick said.  “He has size, and he’s got some quickness. We saw some speed in the Washington game, so he’s done a pretty good job with the ball in his hands. Ball security is something that every player has to always work on and be aware of. I think he’s improved a lot in his running and also just in general fundamentals and assignments and those kinds of things. He’s had a good camp.”"

In all, Stevenson and Damien Harris give the New England Patriots a pretty good two-headed monster talent wise.  They can both run with power and catch the ball out of the backfield.  It should be an interesting season in that respect, but even more interesting to see if Rhamondre Stevenson get enough snaps to make things happen.

As he proved in the preseason, he can take it to the house on any given play, but that was just the preseason.  Now things get a little bit more challenging.
