The Boston Celtics continue to walk along the line of the mediocrity in their 2021-22 campaign. After last night’s victory over the severely undermanned Cleveland Cavaliers, the Celtics pushed their record back to the .500 mark at 16-16, good for eighth place in the Eastern Conference. While Boston has generally looked better over the past week or so, sitting right at .500 is still well below the expectations set for the this team.

As a result, there have been trade rumors swirling around this team for basically the entire season. Some involve trading away a star player like Jaylen Brown to bring back another star that is more compatible with Jayson Tatum. Others involve finding a third star to pair up with Tatum and Brown, with the hope being that that star could help Boston form it’s next iteration of “the Big 3”.

So far, all signs point to Celtics President of Basketball Operations, Brad Stevens, looking to add another star to work with Tatum and Brown. A team that might just have the required player to make a move like this work is the Indiana Pacers. Similar to the Celtics, the Pacers have a lot of talented players on their roster, but they just cannot seem to convert that into wins on a nightly basis for whatever reason.

With the Pacers sitting at 13-19 to this point (which is somehow good for 13th place in the Eastern Conference), their front office may decide to blow things up and undergo a large scale rebuild. If that’s that case, there are a couple of players that may be able to help the Celtics out. Here are 3 players on the Indiana Pacers that could be trade targets for the Celtics.
