New England Patriots could get production and value in targeting inside linebacker Jayon Brown

Whether it is through the 2022 NFL Draft or free agency, the New England Patriots will be looking to get younger and faster at the inside linebacker position.

With the jury out on veteran linebacker Dont’a Hightower as to whether he will be re-signed or decides to retire, Bill Belichick will be looking to booster that position beyond a decision to bring back Ja’Whaun Bentley.

New England Patriots need to get smarter, faster and tougher in 2022. light. Related Story

Will he be willing to spend some dough?  Who knows when it comes to Belichick, but one Tennessee Titans pending free agent who may be affordable is 26-year-old inside linebacker Jayon Brown who missed half the 2021 NFL season due to a knee injury.

At 6-foot-0, 226 pounds, Brown is a three-down linebacker who was one of the Titan’s best defensive players in 2019 in which he recorded a career-high 117 tackles.  As good as he has been for the Titans when healthy, he didn’t draw much of a market when he hit free agency in 2021 leading him to sign a one-year $5,300,000 million deal in 2022.

Coming off a knee injury, the UCLA product may be facing a cheaper one-year deal, more of a prove-it contract.  That is right up Belichick’s ally.  As an off-the-ball linebacker who has experience with signal calling, Jayon Brown could be one of those bargain free agent signings for the New England Patriots.

When it comes to productivity and value, this pending Titans free agent certainly fits the bill.
