Boston Celtics star No. 2: Jayson Tatum

Jayson Tatum had a horrible outing in Game 3, and his 4-19 shooting performance is a big reason Boston was unable to sneak out with a win. And for much of Game 4, Tatum struggled to find his rhythm. He would hit a couple of shots and look like he was finding his rhythm, only to badly miss the next few shots and start from scratch again.

That all changed in the fourth quarter, as Tatum finally started hunting mismatches against an exhausted Bucks defense, and found one he liked in George Hill, who was playing only his second game of the playoffs. Tatum constantly found himself lining up across from Hill, and he took him to town over and over again.

Tatum wound up scoring 12 of his 30 points in the fourth, and he stepped up when his team needed him the most, unlike in Game 3. Tatum took control of the game once Boston found it’s way back on top, and he ensured they wouldn’t lose the lead. He scored nine straight points for the C’s in a 90 second stretch to help turn a two point lead into a nine point lead.

This was what Boston needed, especially considering how Jaylen Brown spent most of the second half on the bench in foul trouble. The Celtics, much like in Game 3, battled back from a big deficit to take a lead. The difference was that this time, Tatum made sure it was a lead the team was going to hold onto.
