Boston Bruins have two very deserving NHL All-Star representatives
What more can we say about the Boston Bruins in the 2022-2023 season? The easiest way to describe them is a juggernaut. An absolute wagon this season so to speak!
At 30-4-4, they still continue to prove why they are the best team in the NHL. They are playing at a historic pace right now. What could make this season even better in the short-term? How about adding a couple of All-Stars to the mix?
The Bruins will have at least two representatives at the All-star game. Goaltender Linus Ullmark and head coach Jim Montgomery have earned the nod for the festivities in Sunrise, Florida. These are the first nods for both Ullmark and Montgomery.
Boston Bruins have one of the best goalies this season in Linus Ullmark
It’s no secret that Ullmark has been one of the main reasons for the Bruins success so far this season. I mean, the numbers that he’s putting up are absolutely incredible.
In 24 games started between the pipes this year, the 29 year old goaltender has a 21-1-1 record with a 1.86 goals against average. He also has a .939 save percentage for good measure.
The 6’5 goalie has had a knack for making the big save when it’s needed. A lot of people were skeptical about Ullmark last season. Some were even calling for Jeremy Swayman to be the number one goalie.
But now, all of those people look like fools. Ullmark has been quite the signing for the Bruins. Should they win the Stanley Cup this season, the All-star goalie will have done something that even Bruins great Tuukka Rask couldn’t do: win a championship.
Boston Bruins have an excellent head coach in Jim Montgomery
Where do you even start with the success that Jim Montgomery has had so far this season?

We all were a little skeptical about the fact that the Bruins fired Bruce Cassidy back in the summer. Considering how he got the Boston Bruins to the playoffs every year he was behind the bench, the skepticism at the time was understandable.
But hiring Montgomery has been delightful for the whole organization. Young players like Jake DeBrusk and Trent Frederic love him because he allows them to be themselves and play the game. It also doesn’t hurt to have a guy like Patrice Bergeron on your team as a captain either.
In 38 games, Montgomery has gotten the Bruins to be the best team in the league, the first team in the NHL to 30 wins, and one of the best third period teams in hockey. Safe to say, he’s had a big impact on this group!
The bottom line with the Boston Bruins All-stars
Linus Ullmark and Montgomery are very deserving of their All-star selections.
They should enjoy the festivities in Florida and have a good time. But after that, it’s all business.
The Boston Bruins have a simple mission: win this year for Patrice Bergeron and David Krejci. Give them a high note to go out on!
So while individual accomplishments are nice, the team accomplishment of a Stanley Cup would be even sweeter.
