Patriots Rumors: Judon’s breaking DeAndre Hopkins news has Twitter buzzing
DeAndre Hopkins to the New England Patriots. That is the kind of breaking news Twitter enthusiasts would be expecting to see from a blue checkmark Adam Schefter. Or, if you follow Matthew Judon, could he be a source that could break NFL news even quicker?
Well, the Patriots pass rusher should and would know if anything was on the horizon.
As the ambassador of offseason recruiting the last couple of seasons, Patriots fans have become entertained by Judon’s recruiting efforts. He hasn’t been successful, but have to applaud his efforts…right?
So, with the Hopkins trade rumors swirling, this Judon buzzworthy tweet is either a sign of news of drop or playing with the emotions of Patriots fans everywhere:

The comments underneath the tweet say it all. Fans don’t know if to get hyped or take it for a grain of salt. If true, Judon might just get a call from Bill Belichick to tell him to take it down a notch on Twitter when it comes to in-house news or even what the team may be up too.
Or it’s a smoke screen.
Patriots rumors: What if Matt Judon knows something
With other teams expected to be in on DeAndre Hopkins, could the Judon bomb be more of a smoke screen. We know Belichick could care less about a thing called Twitter or “MyFace”, but could such an announcement steer other teams away or shift the focus away from another top receiver option that the Patriots might have interest in.
Or perhaps this Patriots fan is just reading too much into it.
Whatever is the endgame here, the timing of the tweet is “sus” as today’s generation would call it. Judon could just be having fun or that mutual admiration between Hopkins and Belichick is about to shake up the NFL as the new league years emerges. The Patriots will have their No. 1 receiver and it could come at a reasonable price as far as trade value.
If Hopkins can be had for a second-round pick, the New England Patriots should make that deal, especially since they once traded a second-round pick for Mohamed Sanu. Obviously, Hopkins is a much better talent and the value of that second-round pick or even third-round pick would be taking on the remainder of Hopkins’ salary, which is a reason many may feel the Patriots would shy away from the deal.
While it’s hard to imagine Matt Judon would break this kind of news (if true) before the reliable sources we look for on an outlet like Twitter, it adds more buzz around the possibility and could just be a distraction away from another deal the team has in the works…or it really is foreshadowing of what’s to come.
Stay tuned Patriots Nation…stay tuned.
