No one around the New England Patriots is happy with the team’s 0-2 start. Management, the coaching staff and the players all at least have some agency to turn things around. Meanwhile, fans are basically helpless as they watch this squad continue to struggle.

That can be a frustrating experience, and it’s unfortunately not a surprise when those emotions come out. Such was the case Sunday night as several female Pats fans got into an intense fight in the 300 section.

We have no idea what the brawl was over, who was at fault or what words were used. We do know, thanks to the video, that several punches were thrown and the participants eventually spilled over into nearby rows.

Sunday night’s disaster certainly didn’t help calm any tensions that were boiling up in the stands. New England entered halftime down 17-3 as the offense once again showed little signs of life. By the time this unit woke up in the fourth quarter, there was simply no room for error, and the Pats’ inability to find the end zone for a third time proved to be the difference.

Morale couldn’t be any lower right now. This team has already dropped two home games, most of the team’s offseason additions already look like disasters, and the overall direction of this franchise could not be more uncertain. There have even been calls for Bill Belichick to get fired, which shows had bad things have gotten since the team’s last Super Bowl victory four and a half years ago.

Maybe the Patriots can learn from these ladies’ fighting spirit to get a win in Week 3 against the similarly struggling New York Jets. At least New England is favored (albeit not by much) after opening the year as home underdogs in each of its first two games.
