‘Tis the season of unwrapping presents, seeing family, and binging every Christmas movie imaginable. Many boast their own unique holiday traditions, but there are some classics that all abide.

Whether it’s planting a Christmas tree in their house, putting lights outside their house, or mailing their letter to the one and only Santa Claus. Writing down everything they wish for to be under the tree on the beloved day.

From young to old, coast to coast, and franchise to franchise, everyone has something they desire: new toys, a better bullpen, or a true top wide receiver. There’s always something.

Sports are truly no different and each of the Boston franchises are all making a list.

So, what’s on the Boston Celtics' List?

Wish 1: Health

The defending champions brought back nearly the same group for 2025, so the biggest threat to Boston repeating is injuries.

Health is always the scariest part of any contending team and the Celtics are no different. Certainly, Kristaps Porzingis is atop that list, but over an 82-game season, you always cross your fingers.

Not to sleep on other Eastern Conference teams like Cleveland, New York, or Milwaukee, but to the biggest threat to the Boston Celtics is the Boston Celtics.

However, I do think the Eastern Conference is much stronger than last year. New York built itself to beat Boston - trading for two All-Stars, Karl Anthony Towns and Mikal Bridges.

Cleveland opted for a coaching change which has certainly proved effective so far. Milwaukee is always fierce with a healthy Giannis and the Orlando Magic are a scrappy young bunch.

Skating through the playoffs last year, the Celtics roster remains intact. So, if Joe Mazzula’s bunch can continue to stay healthy, the Celtics should be the clear frontrunner in the East.

This is why “health” has to be atop the Celtics wish list because that is truly their biggest need. While a veteran big would be nice or an additional shooter off the bench, no need is bigger than a healthy Tatum, Brown, Holiday, White, and Porzingis.

So, if Santa can deliver on this wish above anything else, the Celtics should be in store for another deep playoff run.
