‘Tis the season of unwrapping presents, seeing family, and binging every Christmas movie imaginable. Many boast their own unique holiday traditions, but there are some classics that all abide.

Whether it’s planting a Christmas tree in their house, putting lights outside their house, or mailing their letter to the one and only Santa Claus. Writing down everything they wish for to be under the tree on the beloved day.

From young to old, coast to coast, and franchise to franchise, everyone has something they desire: new toys, a better bullpen, or a true wide receiver one. There’s always something.

Sports is truly no different and each of the Boston franchises are all making a list.

So, what’s on the New England Patriots' list?

Wish 1: A True WR1

I may have hinted at it in the opening, but a true wide receiver one to pair with Drake Maye has to be on the list for Robert Kraft’s team. For a team with a lot of needs, getting your young franchise QB that top weapon is an absolute must.

Whether it’s through the draft, signing Tee Higgins, or trading for the likes of DJ Moore, the Patriots need something. So, unless the elves can engineer one specifically for New England, Eliot Wolf will have to find a solution.

To date, the top receiver for the Pats is Hunter Henry. Yes, the 30-year-old tight end has amounted to 635 receiving yards and one touchdown. Below him, DeMario Douglas with 508 yards.

This needs to change.

According to Spotrac, the Patriots will have $132 million in cap space in 2025. The most of any team in the league.

Thankfully, New England will have options in free agency. While rumors continue to swirl around Higgins, Stefon Diggs, Keenan Allen, and Chris Godwin will also be looking for fresh contracts in the new year.

While getting the quarterback is hard, ruining one is easy. Let’s hope the Patriots aren’t one of those teams and Santa delivers them the ultimate gift.
