The New England Patriots face off against the Houston Texans in Week 6 and all eyes will be on the prized rookie Drake Maye in his first career start. After four straight losses, the Patriots finally decided to change things up by benching Jacoby Brissett. The No. 3 overall pick Maye will get a chance to get the Patriots' offense going against the solid Houston defense.

Fortunately for him, however, he will have his full complement of pass-catchers available. Running back Rhamondre Stevenson was ruled out earlier in the week but the Patriots' wide receiver and tight end corps will be ready for Maye's debut. Kendrick Bourne, who has been listed as questionable all week, will reportedly play on Sunday per Jordan Schultz.

NFL News: Kendrick Bourne Will Be Available vs. Texans

Bourne made his return last week against the Dolphins after suffering an ACL tear in Week 8 of the 2023 season. After nearly missing a year of action, he played 16 snaps in Week 5, finishing with a catch for six yards. Having another competent and reliable veteran for Maye to throw to will be a huge boost for the rookie.

So far this season, no Patriots wide receiver has been able to get going. Considering the state of the offensive line and Brissett's play, that is certainly understandable. DeMario Douglas has been the lead wideout weapon with 24 targets and 18 catches for 153 yards. Ja'Lynn Polk is the only WR with a touchdown through five games as Brissett preferred to throw to tight ends Hunter Henry and Austin Hooper to start the season.

It will likely take some time for Maye and the receivers, including Bourne, to build chemistry but this is a sign in the positive direction.
