Jerod Mayo Breaks Major Injury News Ahead of Patriots vs. Colts
The New England Patriots are 3-9 on the campaign but have found ways to improve as the year has gone on. The Patriots have dealt with a bunch of injuries this season, and that has hindered them in certain positions.
The offensive line especially has seen multiple starters go down but head coach Jerod Mayo gave a positive injury update.
Patriots News: Cole Strange Plans To Return to the Field in 2024
Mayo spoke with team reporters on Friday and revealed that offensive lineman Cole Strange won't get activated to the active roster this week but the plan is for him to return to action at some point this season.
Strange suffered a torn patellar tendon last Dec. 17, and that has sidelined him since. It has been a long road for the 26-year-old to return back to the field. He had to re-learn how to walk but is finally at the tail-end of his recovery process.
The Pats offensive line has been in shambles all season long. They are sixth in the league in sacks allowed (39) so getting Strange back along the interior will give them a massive boost.
He was selected in the first round of the 2022 NFL Draft and has 27 starts under his belt. Last season for New England, Strange played in 564 offensive snaps with three sacks and hits allowed.
Getting him back into the fold toward the end of this season will be great to get some reps in and build towards the 2025 season. It's not a bad idea to keep your young signal caller, Drake Maye upright.
