The New England Patriots are being reshaped in the vision of new head coach Mike Vrabel, and, perhaps unsurprisingly, a number of his selections through the first four rounds of the 2025 NFL Draft have been made on players who will make their home in the trenches.

Having impact players on the offensive and defensive lines is clearly part of Vrabel's coaching philosophy and we have seen that in action, most recently with New England moving up in the draft in order to select former Florida State University standout defensive tackle Joshua Farmer with the 35th pick in the fourth round.

With Farmer joining the fold, an already solid defensive line room has added another weapon to the mix, which opens up a multitude of options on the trade market for the front office to evaluate between now and the start of the 2025 regular season.

There are no doubts about who the starters up front will be for New England this season as Cameron Barmore, assuming he is able to return from the blood clot issue that shortened his 2024 season, is expected to line up alongside offseason acquisition Milton Williams to form one of the more feared defensive fronts in the league.

With Farmer now in the mix, the Patriots can look to move a player like Jaquelin Roy or Eric Johnson II in order to address needs at other positions now or to add draft capital for the future. The former Seminoles standout should be more than capable of playing a major role for New England moving forward whether that is a rotational piece behind Barmore or Williams as a rookie before, ultimately, pushing for a starting spot on the line down the road.

Toughness has always been a trait found in teams coached by Vrabel and it seems safe to say that is a trend that will continue with the draft class they are putting together this weekend.
