Patriots Target Former Second-Rounder in Latest Free Agency Prediction
The New England Patriots entered the 2024 season in phase one of their massive rebuild. Head coach Jerod Mayo is seeking to change the outlook of this team, and it has been underway.
There have been some rough patches, but at the same time, there have been moments of really good football being played.
The Pats know the 2025 offseason is going to be a big one for the organization. Bleacher Report released an article about every team's weaknesses going into Week 13 of the season. They also talked about what players each team could be targeting in free agency.
The Pats need help along the offensive line and landed a former second-round pick in this projection.
Bleacher Report had the Pats landing tackle Walker Little in free agency, who has been with the Jacksonville Jaguars for the past four seasons. He has 21 career starts under his belt. He was the backup behind Cam Robinson, who was eventually moved this offseason due to the team's faith in Little.
The 25-year-old has good quickness with strong hands. In 2024, Little has a 67.9 overall grade per PFF across 291 offensive snaps.
The Pats will make it a point of emphasis to upgrade the offensive line this offseason and find a way to keep Drake Maye upright. Little could provide them with a quality starter at tackle, and likely won't break the bank either. New England will have the most cap space in the NFL at $139.5 million, according to Spotrac.
They'll have the funds to bring in multiple difference-makers and Little could be one of them.
