Patriots Veteran Surprisingly Added to the Week 8 Injury Report

The New England Patriots are desperately trying to end their six-game losing streak as they take on the New York Jets in Week 8. Their AFC East rivals are on a four-game losing streak of their own since defeating the Patriots 24-3 in Week 3.
Sunday's outing presents an excellent opportunity for both sides to get back on track. Unfortunately, the Patriots have been dealing with significant injuries to key veterans since the start of the season.
The Patriots' injury report was once again a long one on Friday as the team ruled out two rookies, Ja'Lynn Polk and Layden Robinson for the game while categorizing eight players as questionable.
One name that wasn't on the report on Friday was a late addition on Saturday as the Patriots listed veteran safety Kyle Dugger as questionable with an ankle injury.
NFL News: Patriots S Kyle Dugger Questionable to Play in Week 8
Dugger had started the week on the injury report and was a limited participant in practice. However, after practicing all week, he was removed from the injury report on Friday, indicating that he was almost certainly going to play on Sunday. That is why his appearing back on there caught many Patriots fans by surprise.
The fifth-year defender previously missed the Week 5 matchup against the Dolphins with an injury. In the six games he suited up for this season, he recorded a sack, forced a fumble, and registered 35 tackles.
In the 2024 offseason, the Patriots signed Dugger to a four-year, $58 million extension. Since the NFL placed Jabrill Peppers on the commissioner's exempt list, Dugger has become one of the leaders of the Patriots' secondary and will continue to play a huge role for the rest of the season.
