3. Kayshon Boutte, WR

Along with Douglas, the Patriots used a sixth-round pick on wideout Kayshon Boutte in an attempt to improve the passing game. Although he wasn't the biggest or best receiver in the draft, he did show some potential after recording 131 receptions for 1,782 yards and 16 touchdowns across three seasons with the LSU Tigers.

Boutte was another rookie who showed promise during the preseason, catching all four passes thrown his way for 56 yards, one touchdown, and two first downs. Unfortunately, that's about as good as it got for him in his first year.

The New Iberia, LA native only played 116 offensive snaps across five games with the Patriots. He was invisible more often than not, catching just two of seven targets for 19 yards. He also made several key mistakes, including when he failed to stay in bounds in a game where the Patriots had a chance to upset the Philadelphia Eagles.

Making matters worse, Boutte was arrested on Jan. 25 after allegedly making over 8,900 wagers under a fake name while being underage at LSU. There's been no indication of what Boutte's future with the Patriots is looking like, but one has to assume that a situation like this has only left him on thinner ice — especially if the off-field distractions continue.
