3 Patriots Who Won't Survive the Season in New England
3. Jalen Reagor, wide receiver
This may be a bit of low-hanging fruit because Reagor is currently on the Patriots' practice squad, but he's the type of player the Patriots could absolutely lose over the course of the regular season.
As of right now, the former first-round pick out of TCU obviously hasn't gotten any offers worth leaving New England for, but that all could change as teams start to suffer injuries across the league. Or perhaps teams will realize they have a bigger need in the kickoff return department than anticipated and start reaching out to Reagor to come and help them fill that void.
Reagor caught only seven passes for the Patriots last year but did average 19.7 yards per catch and returned seven punts for 221 yards, including a punt return touchdown. Reagor has proven he has value on special teams, at the very least, and teams are undoubtedly aware of that.
It's a little shocking he's still on the Patriots' practice squad to begin with given his talent level and the fact that not every team has a great option in the return game. He's sort of wasting away on New England's practice squad.
As previously mentioned with the eventual return of Kendrick Bourne off the PUP, the Patriots have the luxury of getting other young players snaps right now to where Reagor's best chance to play may be strictly outside of New England this coming season. It wouldn't shock me to see teams come calling as early as Week 2 or Week 3 of the 2024 season as injuries start to pile up.
