3. Anfernee Jennings, EDGE

It's possible at this point that Anfernee Jennings has priced himself out of the Patriots' range in terms of being a player hitting the market in 2024 that they'd actually want to bring back.

Jennings has shown some big improvements this season in relief of Matthew Judon off the edge, and might be one of the better run-defending EDGE players in 2024 free agency.

With Judon still under contract and carriyng a $15 million cap hit, it's going to be very hard to justify paying big money to another edge defender. That's doubly true when the Pats should be devoting all of their resources to supporting whichever rookie quarterback they land in the draft.

Jennings has had his injury issues in the past, but with a career-best 8 tackles for loss in 2023 (including 3 against the Steelers), he might have priced himself out of New England's range. Especially because he's also played some incredible run defense, making him a true every-down threat.

Jennings should get paid this offseason, but it won't be by the Patriots.
