6 Patriots on the Bubble Ahead of 2024 Training Camp
Going into training camp on the roster bubble doesn't necessarily mean being cut is a foregone conclusion, but it's certainly not the place you want to be. The New England Patriots are trying to identify which players they're going to build around as the franchise rebuilds following the departure of legendary head coach Bill Belichick.
It's the perfect time to reestablish culture under new head coach Jerod Mayo, and not every player that was on the team last year is going to be part of that new culture.
Which Patriots players are on the roster bubble before the team reports for training camp in 2024?
6 Patriots Players on the Roster Bubble Before 2024 Training Camp
1. JuJu Smith-Schuster, Wide Receiver
Apparently, JuJu Smith-Schuster wasn't 100 percent healthy last season (in the 11 games he actually played) for the New England Patriots. That would at least help explain why he was only able to muster 29 receptions after getting $16 million guaranteed from the organization. He had this to say to The Boston Herald:
"It’s a big difference. It’s not easy coming off a knee injury and having a long season and coming back really short. . . . I feel great, honestly. I feel great. I’ve never felt better. I’m just excited to finally be out here around this time and participating."

There have been plenty of good receivers who have been able to produce with shaky quarterback play in the NFL. For Smith-Schuster to contribute as little as he did last year with nearly 500 total snaps, he has to be considered one of the top roster bubble players on this team even with a larger dead cap number (over $9.6 million).
